What are gTLD and ccTLD

Domain Name consist of two parts, name and extension.
We can choose any name for our domain. We can choose the extensions from the pre-defined combination. Every domain name ends in a top-level domain (TLD) name.

Top level domain (TLD) can be categorized as generic top level domains (gTLD) and country code top level domains (ccTLD).

gTLD: Top Level Generic extensions (gTLD) are like – .com, .net, .org, .biz etc.

ccTLD: TLDs with two letters (.in, .de, .jp etc) is used for over 240 countries and are called as “country-code” TLDs.
